Ngarot Ngarot i s a traditional festival from Lelea , West Java. Th is is an annual festival that held before the planting season of rice. Ngarot is a sign or symbol to tell villagers that it is the time to plant rice on the rice field. The first rice plant to be planted will be on the head of village’s rice field which named as carik . There are many interesting thin gs on Ngarot festival based on its’ history, meaning and how it is celebrated. First, from the historical background, Ngarot is from Sundanese language which means “drink”.
